Littleness
rages everywhere. Simplifications of long-standing and multi-faceted issues
make conversations obscene. The obtuse and ignorant rejection of complex
thought impoverishes centuries of philosophical, political and sociological
reflections. The dichotomy between Good and Bad, Good and Evil, Yes and No, For
and Against, ridicules the debate. The mutation and metamorphosis of values
filled with momentary usefulness are vulgar in the presence of the Wises.
Reality treated as an independent variable. Rationality and reason brutalized
by emotions emptied of feelings and humanity. The "dailyization" of
the individual's life cancels the stories of centuries and millennial events.
The hundreds of millions of deaths due to war forgotten, or never existed, a
bored, useless story that repeats itself wearily. The belly that commands on
the head, the gerontocratic power despises the present and the future of the
boys. The humiliation of law, placed as an embarrassing tool in a dusty and
dark closet.
We
need to go back to the fatigue and trouble of analysis, research, study,
thought. We need a new complex thought and to rediscover the love of
difficulty. We need to drink again from the cup of Aristotle, Socrates, Kant,
Descartes, Hegel. We need Brecht's doubt to prevail over the certainties of the
idiot.
Only
one, supreme, indomitable, imperishable certainty, firm as an evangelical rock:
PEACE!
